Have you tried the "take this pill" or any of the thousands of "miracle weight loss" plans that are out there? I am guessing you have and that they never delivered what was promised. The weight loss industry is making billions and getting larger every year.I don't think they really want you to lose the weight...they just want to send you to the next shiny object that will miraculously make you look like the skinny super models or the really cut celebrities on the magazine covers.
I am not a doctor or even an expert nutritionist...but when I gain a few pounds and need to lose it, I do one simple thing...I cut out the carbohydrates. I go to eating meat, eggs, chicken, fish, and shell fish. I eat vegetables that are low in carbs. I avoid breads and junk food for a few weeks (it's not easy). This is no "miracle diet" and it's pretty simple....but it does require some will power on your part. The good thing is that you won't count calories (annoying) and you won't walk around feeling hungry all day. In a few weeks you will feel and look better and you will have more energy....at least that's what happens for me. So give it a try and see how much better you will feel and look. I have listed below the low carb vegetables to eat with your meals.
1. Aragula....1 gram of carbs per cup
2. Cucumber...2 grams per 1/2 cup
3. Broccoli...3 grams per 1/2 cooked cup
4. Iceberg Lettuce...2 grams per shredded cup
5. Celery...2.5 grams per 2 medium stalks
If you love to eat beef, chicken, pork, fish and eggs, there are hundreds of different variations that will keep you from getting bored of eating the same thing every night. You are only limited by your imagination with all the delicious and nutritious meals that can be made. Give the low carb diet a try...I think you will be amazed with the results in just a few short weeks!

Inspirational Quote
I always love to read inspirational quotes from the great philosophers, scientists, inventors and spiritual leaders from past and present. I believe it gives us a glimpse of what is in their hearts as well as in their minds. There is nothing like finding a great inspirational quote that can lift you up after a day that maybe didn't go so well. I had stopped reading and trying to find these quotes for quite some time....I don't really know why. I just read this one from Stephen Hawking, probably the smartest man on the planet. It was an interview with Diane Sawyer and he was talking to his children ( I never knew he even had children)...this is what he said: "One, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Two, never give up work. Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it. Three, if you are lucky enough to find love, remember it is there and don’t throw it away."

I am lucky because I live in Florida...otherwise known as the Sunshine State. I grew up in Massachusetts and did all the fun stuff you can do in the winters up there. I loved skating on the frozen cranberry bogs and playing tackle football (with no equipment) in the snow. I even tried skiing a few times...and enjoyed that until I tore my right knee up going down a mogul run that was a bit passed my skill level. I hung up the skis after that incident. I lived for baseball all through high school and dreamed of going to the big leagues. What could be better than to get paid playing a game you love? I never got to the show but I still play softball and pretend there are more than 10 people in the stands. Being in Florida there is no excuse to not get out and enjoy the incredible weather we have down here. If you haven't been involved in any sports lately, I encourage you to check out your local scene and get into a sport that interests you. If you are from a colder climate there are so many things you can do to stay active that I won't even try to list them all. So come on...get off the couch and be a kid again!
